Erectile Dysfunction and Parkinson's disease

A study by researchers from Boston has suggested a link between erectile dysfunction and Parkinson’s disease. According to the report, which was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, the body's autonomic nervous system often is affected in cases of both erectile dysfunction and Parkinson's. Of the more than 32,000 men studied over a 16-year period, 200 were diagnosed with Parkinson’s. The study, according to Xiang Gao, PhD, MD, of Harvard University’s School of Public Health, shows the autonomic nervous system in the men diagnosed with Parkinson’s “may have been impaired years before Parkinson’s disease is clinically recognizable.”
